Biography:
Dr. Mary Anbarasi Johnson, PhD (N), MBA, M.A. (Public Administration), FSASS, FRAEL, FMERC, FMERU, FIOASD, M.PW (U.S.) is the Professor and Head of the Pediatric Nursing Department at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, with distinguished experience in nursing education, clinical practice, administration, and research.
She has served in diverse roles, including Clinical Nurse Specialist in the PICU, Assistant Professor in the USA, Assistant Director of Nursing in the Saudi Arabia Defence Sector, and Deputy Nursing Superintendent at CMC Vellore, overseeing staff training, quality assurance, NABH coordination, and hospital infection control.
Dr. Johnson has been a Master Trainer for international programs like GFATM and IMNCI, and national initiatives such as ICMR Infection Control and Child Sexual Abuse Protection. She has published over 70 papers, presented in 30+ conferences, authored a book, contributed to five book chapters, and served on editorial boards of more than 100 journals.
Her numerous accolades include the President’s Gold Medal in B.Sc. Nursing, Life Achievement Award (SAHEI), Best Faculty Award, Icon of the Year Award, and Asian Pacific Educationist and Nursing Specialist Award.

Dr. Mary Anbarasi Johnson’s research interests encompass pediatric nursing, critical care, and infection control, with a strong focus on improving clinical outcomes for children through evidence-based practices. She is passionate about developing and implementing training programs for healthcare professionals in areas such as neonatal and pediatric intensive care, quality assurance, and hospital infection prevention. Her academic pursuits also explore public health interventions, child protection, and capacity-building strategies for nursing education at both national and international levels. In addition, she is committed to advancing interdisciplinary healthcare models, integrating innovative teaching methods, and promoting global collaboration to strengthen healthcare delivery systems.
