Abstract Title:Neurocognitive Functioning in Paediatric Cancer: A Scoping Review
Biography:
Dr. Deepa Awasthi is an accomplished occupational therapist specializing in developmental disabilities. A graduate of Seth G.S.M.C & K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai, India, she is currently pursuing her post-graduation in Occupational Therapy in Developmental Disabilities at L.T.M.M.C., Mumbai.
Recognized early in her career for academic excellence, she was awarded the Best Student Award for the academic year 2015–2016. Dr. Awasthi has achieved notable success in research and scientific communication, winning the Best Scientific Paper Presentation at the Annual Conference of the Association of Neonatal Therapists for two consecutive years (2020 and 2021). In March 2021, she was honored with the Gazala Makada Award for Best Paper Presentation in Pediatrics at Virtual OTICON 2021.
Her scholarly contributions include four publications in international peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her commitment to advancing occupational therapy practice and improving outcomes for children with developmental needs. Through her clinical work and research, Dr. Awasthi continues to bridge evidence-based therapy with compassionate patient care.

Dr. Deepa Awasthi’s research interests center on pediatric occupational therapy and developmental disabilities, with a particular focus on early intervention strategies that enhance functional independence and quality of life in children. She is passionate about exploring neurodevelopmental assessment tools, therapeutic approaches for neonatal and infant populations, and evidence-based methods to support children with motor, sensory, and cognitive challenges. Her work also emphasizes the integration of family-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration to create individualized therapy plans. In addition, she is committed to advancing clinical knowledge through research dissemination, contributing to international peer-reviewed literature, and promoting best practices in neonatal and pediatric rehabilitation.
