Biography:
Dr. Azza Makram Abdou is an experienced pediatric consultant with over two decades of expertise in general pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric intensive care, pediatric diabetology, and pediatric cardiology. She graduated from Cairo University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, earned her Master’s degree in Pediatrics in 2006, and pursued multiple sub-specializations, including diabetes (2018), hospital management (2019), and cardiology (2022).
Since 2000, Dr. Abdou has served at a teaching hospital in Egypt, where she also held the role of Director of the Pediatric ICU for one year. Her career includes valuable international experience, having worked in the Gulf region from 2007 to 2012, further enhancing her clinical expertise and cross-cultural medical practice.
Through her diverse training and leadership roles, Dr. Abdou has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving pediatric care, advancing clinical standards, and fostering excellence in hospital management.
Research Interest:
Dr. Azza Makram Abdou’s research interests focus on comprehensive pediatric care, with special emphasis on neonatal medicine, pediatric intensive care, pediatric diabetes management, and pediatric cardiology. She is dedicated to exploring innovative diagnostic and treatment approaches for childhood diabetes, congenital and acquired heart conditions, and critical care management in infants and children. Her work also extends to hospital management strategies aimed at optimizing pediatric ICU operations, improving clinical outcomes, and enhancing patient safety. Drawing on her diverse clinical background and international experience, she is committed to integrating evidence-based medicine with multidisciplinary approaches to advance the quality of pediatric healthcare.
